At Sunrise Potato we have been growing potatoes in Alliston,
Ontario’s potato capital, since 1991. Our connection
to this area extends back more than half a century, as Peter
was born and raised on his father's farm just down the road.
We started Sunrise Potato so our children could also grow
up on a farm, and to fulfill a life-long dream for Peter.
Over the years, our six children have all been integral parts
of the farm, and it has been a livelihood for the family.
Today, the second generation is taking a leadership role.
Though potatoes are not the only crop we
grow, they are our specialty. We try to excel by focusing
on four elements: (1) producing potatoes for the chip industry,
(2) producing organic potatoes for fresh consumption and processing,
(3) using high-quality potato storage facility to supply potatoes
10 months of the year, and (4) doing applied scientific research
to improve potato production in Ontario.
